Warning: Bunny Ahead
Tonight Cole and I went for a short hike together to attempt to get ride of some extra energy. We hiked up the trail and turned around to come home when I saw a cute little cotton tail come bounding, no tearing, up the hill towards us. Cole was in front of me and I just assumed the little bunny would veer off the path when he got to close to us and head down. Boy, was I wrong! He ran head long straight into and then straight up Coulson in his attempt to get away from whatever scared him. I was shocked and poor Cole was terrified. Once the bunny realized he couldn't make it all the way up Cole he jumped off of him and headed up the hill. I couldn't help but laugh at what had just happened until I realized just how terrified my little boy was. In the end I got all the exercise as I tried to carry Cole down the steep hill. He kept repeated "bunny, no bunny" the entire way down. It was kinda sad. So after the hike I took him to Petco to see the bunnies and reaffirm that they really are nice and this was just a freak encounter. It worked. But, really what human gets run over by a cotton tail bunny? Isn't it usually the other way around?

Bathtub Observations
Tonight when I bathed Cole he decided to play with a tub fishing set his Aunt Katy gave him for Christmas. As I watch him, he would pretend to "cast" the pole and call out "Here Fishy, I catch you, come here". He would then "catch" (aka grab) a fish from the water, put it on the hook, and proclaim proudly, "I caught you". After several casts he finally threw the whole pole to the end of the tub and declared " I done fishing for you".

Here Fishy, Fishy!
This past weekend we drove to Mancos, Colorado for some much needed R&R with nature. We met up with my parents and sister and spent the first two days fishing on beautiful Lake Bauer. It was on and off again rainy and windy but we still had a pretty good time. Especially Cole. He got to go bug hunting and bird watching with Tia (my sister Keri), adventures and walks with Nana, rides in the boat with Papa, and helped Mom and Dad catch their fish. We really had a good time. Here are a couple pictures from the fishing part - more of the weeks adventures will follow later.

Happy Birthday, Coulson!
As of Sunday, May 17, 2009 Coulson managed to survive the first two years of life! It is so hard to believe that I have a two year old but, I love it at the same time. He is getting so big and is so full of life. I can't image my life without him, and can't seem to remember what it was like before him. It must have been pretty boring because now life is full of laughter, adventure and excitement. Happy Birthday Cole! We love you more than anything!
For his birthday we had several celebrations. Spoiled boy. Saturday we had some friends over including "Uncle" Scott and had dinner and cake (Score Cake). That night he received his first fishing pole and tackle box from Mom and Dad. Of course, they were Superman and he loved them. So did Daddy. This upcoming weekend he'll get to use his fishing pole for our family fishing trip to Colorado. He also received an adorable stuffed duck from his Uncle Scott that he loves and sleeps with at night. Then on Sunday he got a new bike from Nana and Popi. He played on it all morning. From Grams and Opa he got a membership to the Treehouse, which is the local children museum here. That night we headed to Morgan, UT to do a dual celebration with Cole great Granpa Jack whose birthday is one day after Cole's. We had dinner, cupcakes and played outside all night. It was wonderful. We will also celebrate this upcoming weekend with my family in Colorado. I think the kid made a haul and thank you to everyone who made it a great 2 birthday!

Jesus wants sun BEAN!!
Last night after dinner Cole decided to help me clean up by finishing off the last of the shredded cheese. The sight was just too cute. He was standing on a kitchen chair, shoveling cheese in his mouth by the handful and singing "Jesus want sun BEAN!" while dancing. I just can't say enough how much I LOVE my 2 year old!!!!

Again, it has been awhile between posts but we have yet again been dealing with lots of sickness in our family. Thankfully, we are all getting better but here are some pictures of the good times we have been having.
During the sickness streak we also dealt with hives and a bad case of heat rash on Cole's little body. When we talked to the doctor he said the best way to deal with it was to let him go naked for a little while. Cole LOVED that idea and carried on life as normal - but completely in the buff. So here he is cooking with daddy. I am warning you that you do see his little naked bum but I just couldn't resist.
